Day 1 (Arrival – Srinagar –Kargil)

Night Stay : Kargil, Hotel

Distance/Time Taken : 240 Km. (07 - 08 Hrs Drive Approx)

Arrival at Srinagar Airport and drive directly to Kargil (204 Kms) & drive thru Sonmarg. Breakfast can be taken on the way at Sonmarg. Situated at an altitude of 9000 Ft. Sonmarg – 84 Kms is also called as “The meadow of gold” has, as its backdrop, snowy mountains against a cerulean sky. The Sindh River that meanders through the valley abounds with trout and mahaseer. Stop at Sonmarg for Photography/tea (If the clients are interested they can visit the Glaciers of Thajwas on ponies on direct payment basis) these glaciers remain throughout the year. Continue your towards Kargil and passing over Zero Point, Zojila Pass. Stop at Drass, the 2nd coldest inhabitant place in the World for & enjoy cup of tea. Then drive along the Drass River till one arrives at Kargil & Check in at Hotel. Overnight stay in Hotel at Kargil.

Day 2 (Kargil to Leh enroute Mulbekh & Lamayuru, Leh : 11562 i.e. 3524 mts)

Night Stay : Leh

Distance/Time Taken : 234 Km. (7 - 8 hrs Drive Approx)

After breakfast Drive for Leh enroute visiting the Monastery of Mulbekh, famous for 1st century Statue of Maitrya Buddha, carved out of a huge rock. Proceed further towards Lamayuru & passing thru Namikala & Fatula Passes, the highest pass on Srinagar – Leh road. Gurdwara Pather Sahib, Hall of Fame, The Magnetic Hill & The Confluence of Indus & Zanskar

Overnight stay in Leh.(No Accomodation will be provided from our side only Transportation)

Day 3 (Leh to Shey/Thiksey/Stok – Leh : 11562 i.e. 3524 mts)

Night Stay : Leh

Distance/Time Taken : 90 Km. (5 – 6 hrs including Sightseeing)

After breakfast visit the monasteries of Shey, Thiksey, and Stok.

Shey: It was the ancient capital of Ladakh and even after Singge Namgyal built the more imposing palace at Leh, the kings continued to regard Shey, as their real home. The importance which was attached to Shey - the seat of Ladakh's heartland - is attested by the enormous number of Chorten about the village, particularly around the palace complex and barren plain to the north of the road.

Thiksey: is one of the largest and most impressive Gompas. There are several temples in this Gompa containing images, stupas and exquisite wall paintings. It also houses a two - storied statue of Buddha which has the main prayer hall around its shoulder.

Stok Gompa: of Ladakh is situated at a distance of approximately 15 km to the South of the Leh town. It dates back to the 14th century and was founded by Lama Lhawang Lotus.

Afternoon visit to Shanti Stupa & Leh Palace.

Shanti Stupa: Located on the hilltop at Changspa. The Stupa was constructed by a Japanese Buddhist organization, known as 'The Japanese for World Peace'. The aim behind the construction of the Stupa was to commemorate 2500 years of Buddhism and to promote World Peace.

Leh Palace: Built in the 17th century, it was built as the residential palace for the King Singge Namgyal. Much smaller but resembling the Potala in Lhasa, Leh Palace is now in ruins. It has nine storeys and has been deserted since the royal family shifted to the Stok Palace in 1830s. nine storey, but it is now dilapidated and deserted. It was the home of the royal family until they were exiled to Stok in the 1830s.

Day 4 (In Leh)

Day 5 (Leh to Nubra (10000 i.e. 3250 mts)

Night Stay : Nubra, Camps/Hotel

Distance/Time Taken : 125 Km. (4 - 5 hrs one way Approx)

After breakfast at hotel drive towards Nubra valley via Khardungla pass (18350 feet) by surface passing thru Horzey & Gangles Village. On arrival in Nubra Valley, drive to diskit, visit Deskit, the HQ town of Nubra Valley. Driving for 30 Kms takes to Khalsar Bridge. Visit desklit monastry. Further drive from Deskit to Hunder, you may see a few Double Humped, Hairy and Bactrian Camels Overnight stay in camps/ Hotel at Nubra Valley.

Day 6 (Nubra to Pangong via Shayok River (14270 i.e. 4350 mts)

Night Stay : Pangong, Hotel

Distance/Time Taken : 147 Km. (04 - 05 hrs one way Approx)

After breakfast at Nubra valley drive toward Pangong Lake via Shayok . The name Pangong is derived from the Tibetan word Banggong Co meaning long, narrow, enchanted lake. There is a narrow ramp-like formation of land that runs into the lake which is a favorite among tourists and photographers. Due to the saltiness in the water of the lake, there is very less micro-vegetation. There are no fish or other aquatic life in the lake, except for some small crustaceans. However, numerous ducks and gulls over and on the lake surface can be spotted in plenty. There are some species of scrub and perennial herbs that grow in the marshes around the lake. On the way visit , Durbuk, Tangste & Lukung Overnight stay in Hotel at Pangong Lake.

Day 7 Pangong to Leh (13950 i.e. 4250 mts)

Night Stay : Leh

Distance/Time Taken : 134 Km. (4 - 5 hrs one way)

After breakfast leave for walk at Pangong Lake, a highest salt water lake in the World, Shared by two countries India (25%) & China (75%), enjoy the beauty of lake on banks of the lake while appreciating the changing colours of fascinating high altitude lake. Drive back to Leh via Changla Pass. Overnight stay in Leh. (No Accomodation will be provided from our side only Transportation)

Day 8 (Leh to Kargil - Srinagar)

Night Stay : Srinagar, Houseboat

Distance/Time Taken : 430 Km. (10 - 12 hrs one way Approx)

After breakfast drive to Kargil through Khalse, Lamayuru, over Namiki-la (12,200 ft.), Mulbekh where there is a Chamba statue carved out of a single rock about 144 ft. high, over Fatu-la (13,489 ft.) which i s the highest pass on Leh - Srinagar road and visit Lamayuru monastery which is the unique and oldest monastery in Ladakh. After viewing fascinating view of granite colour soil rocks drive down through kangaroo curves to Kargil. On the way visit the famous. Continue your drive towards Srinagar via Sonmarg. Later Evening have a relaxing Shikara ride in famous Dal Lake. Overnight in Houseboat at Srinagar.

Day 9 (Srinagar local Sightseeing - Airport)

After breakfast at Srinagar houseboat transfer enjoy to famous Mughal Garden, Nishat Garden known as ‘Garden of pleasure’ built in 16th century (1633) by Mughal King Asif Khan. Then visit to Shalimar Garden known as ‘Garden of love’ built in 16th century (1619) by Mughal King Jahangir for his beloved wife Noor Jahan or (Mehr-un-Nissa. After that visit to Chashmashahi. The Chashma Shahi Mughal gardens in Srinagar have been loved by emperors and picnickers alike, and have now been restored to their past glory and the drive to Airport to catch flight for onward destination with Sweet Holiday memories.
